Lorraine Salvagno 2019

2019
Lorraine Salvagno April 6, 1950 – July 19, 2019 How do you describe the life of one of the most gorgeous, loving, caring, intelligent, articulate, deliberate, free spirited and most incredibly courageous woman I will ever know, all in a single page. It’s an impossible task but I will take a try: Who she is: Lorraine is a Wife, Mom, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Niece, Grandmother, Friend and BFF to so many wonderful family members and friends. Lorraine Margaret Salvagno, 69, was born to parents Finola Hughes and Peter Tully, on 4/6/1950 in Dublin, Ireland. She came to America around 1958 along with her 2 older sisters and a younger brother and lived in upper Manhattan in NYC. Lorraine worked as an Office Manager for what almost seemed like “forever” and she was so loved by some of the most talented and compassionate staff and doctors at “The Laser and Corneal Surgery Associates” firm located at “The Laser Center” offices in White Plains. After a number of years of service Lorraine retired from Laser and Corneal Surgery Associates at the end of August 2018. But that doesn’t really describe her. I continue: Lorraine met Louie Salvagno in 1992. Lorraine was living in the Bronx at the time and they soon moved in together in Mount Kisco, NY. In the year 2000 Lorraine and Louie got engaged and they were married on Dec 5, 2002 in Kauai, Hawaii while on vacation. It was a beautifully set Hawaiian style wedding ceremony. When they got home to surprise everyone with their marriage, no one was really surprised. Everybody said that they figured that would happen. Born: April 6, 1950 Death: July 19, 2019 Lorraine of “Mount Kisco”, NY, passed away on 7/19/2019 after a yearlong battle with brain cancer which devastated everyone that knew her. Lorraine is survived by her daughter Lorraine (Linc) Nostro, Son Michael Cerone, StepSons and their wives Anthony and Saliha Salvagno; Jason and Charity Salvagno, her 3 Sisters Helen Boylan, Ruth Gallagher and Ashley Tully and 2 Brothers Robert and Christopher Tully; grandchildren Nicole, Timothy, Samantha, Frankie, Michael, Matteo and Sienna plus a “plethora” of nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces and extended family members both here and back home in Ireland . All of these she loved and touched deeply. Now we are getting closer to who she really is. She is a kind and gentle soul but could be pretty fierce when she needed to be. Her laugh is infectious. Her smile lights up a room. She is a friend to so many and to know her is to love her. To be her friend is to be in the face of true unconditional love. She grows close to everyone effortlessly and made all feel loved. What she loves the most was her family and showed it in so many ways. Always making time for her grandchildren (all 7 of them) so they could always know her and how much she loves them. Giving everything she has is her trademark and she is always ready to play. Truly selfless with her love. She is deeply missed beyond comprehension. Her passions and interests include – Spiritual Consul, Holistic Healer and Reiki Master. She loves her essential oils and never failed to try her concoctions on her husband to see how they worked. In addition, Lorraine loves to play Golf, loves riding her bicycle, loves to be out in nature, and was an avid beach goer, she loves bird watching off her deck, loves music, loves to meditate and loves anything that had to do with the water or nature. That’s a lot of loving. There. I think I have captured the love of my life’s essence. She is sorely missed.
