Lois Jean Simon June 17, 1930 – July 26, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Lois Jean Simon, 89, of Du Quoin, passed away at 3:35 P.M., Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Jean had been a homemaker. She was born June 17, 1930 at Dowell, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Flossie (Privette) Jaroski, Sr. She married Norman D. Simon on November 29, 1952 at Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2017. She is survived by two daughters – Cindy Fuhrhop of Ava and Lisa Geissler and husband Kevin of Carbondale, two grandchildren – Michael Fuhrhop and wife Alison of Ava and Morgan Geissler of Carbondale, three great grandchildren – Oliver Fuhrhop, Johanna Fuhrhop and Silas Fuhrhop, all of Ava and her caregivers – Dorothy and Dan Hinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one granddaughter – Allison J. Fuhrhop, one great granddaughter – Danica Fuhrhop, one sister – Delores Bohnert, and three brothers – Joseph Jaroski, Lee Jaroski, and Butch Jaroski. Per Jean’s request, cremation services were conducted. There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin is in charge of arrangements.
