Lewis S. Ayars, Sr., 68, of Carney’s Point passed away on July 9, 2019. Born in Bridgeton, Lew was the son of Lewis Ayars & Lucille Bertolini Burpulis. A self-employed painter, he was the owner of Squeegy’s Painting in Wilmington. Whether he was playing softball, crabbing, camping or fishing, Lew loved being outdoors.not only did he play softball but he also served as the President and Vice President of the league. He also enjoyed going down to Atlantic City and watching the Phillies. He is survived by his wife Colleen (Roebuck), children, Michelle Croft (Jay), Lewis S. Ayars Jr. (Shelly), Jamie Ayars, Tony Ayars (Kim) and Stephanie McDonald (Kenny); his step-mother, Nancy Ayars; siblings, Mike Ayars, Iva Pacheco and Alice Middleman; grandchildren, Jay Croft, Kara Croft, Dylan Ayars, Ryan Ayars, Seth Ayars, Alexa Ayars, Justin Keeler, Kenny McDonald Jr. and Lucas McDonald and one great grandchild, Mason Croft. He was predeceased by both parents, his step-father, John Burpulis and three siblings, Harry Ayars, Carol Jenkins and Lucille Morgan. Services will be held this Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Adams Funeral Home, 64 Broad St., Woodstown, NJ 08098. The family will be available starting at 10 AM to greet those who wish to stop by and pay their respects with the service following at 12 PM. Interment will take place on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Greenwood Cemetery in Millville at 11 AM.
