Leslie Carol Greer, age 61, passed away peacefully on the evening of July 13, 2019. Leslie was born in Houston, Texas, on August 31, 1958. Her greatest passions in life were drama, raising her beloved daughter, Jennifer, and her strong Christian faith. After starring in a musical production of “Annie Get Your Gun” in the 9th grade, Leslie was admitted to one of the first classes of Houston’s High School for Performing and Visual Arts in 1973. Through HSPVA, she became active in professional theater in Houston beginning in the 11th grade with the lead role in the Alley Theater’s production of “A Doll’s House”, as well as in subsequent Alley plays and professional productions by Houston’s A.D. Players. Leslie held a B.A. in Drama from the University of Houston and enjoyed a professional acting career in New York for several years. In the 1980’s, Leslie was also the co-owner of a small company which produced and sold gourmet cheesecake to leading restaurants in the Washington, DC area. Her creations were written up in local publications and were even served on Air Force One. Later, she moved to Colorado where she spent her later years with family in Evergreen, Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock, CO. Leslie is survived by her devoted mother, Mary Nelms Rotenberry, Castle Rock, CO; her daughter Jennifer N. Olson and son-in-law Alex Olson of Northglenn, CO; her sister Mary C. Patton and brother-in-law Michael “Pat” Patton of Castle Rock, CO; and her brother James “Mike” Rotenberry and sister-in-law Sara J. Rotenberry of Richardson, Texas. She is also survived by nephews Eric A. Cohen of Castle Rock, CO; Alex Rotenberry of Kansas City, MO; and Patrick Rotenberry of Richardson, TX; as well as loving relatives Frances Bruce, Joe Jaworski, Margaret Nelms, Jimmy Nelms, Nanci Nelms, and Lori Nelms, all of Texas. A memorial service for Leslie will be held at the Silver Heights Care Center in Castle Rock at 3 PM on Friday, July 26, 2019.
