Lawrence Russell Jordan, 89, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the West River Health Campus. Lawrence was born June 16, 1930 in Evansville to the late Clinton Jordan and Eula (Miller) Jordan Jenkins. He enjoyed woodworking and worked as a furniture maker for Karges Furniture for 52 years before retiring. He was a member of Forest Hill Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. Surviving Lawrence are his wife of 68 years, Eva (Mitchell) Jordan; two daughters, Debra Todd and Sandra (Donnie) Riggs, both of Evansville; two grandchildren, Donald and Jeffrey Riggs and two great grandchildren, Michael and Emalie Riggs; two step grandchildren, Bobby and Joe Todd; two step great grandchildren, Brandi and Shaun Todd. In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by son-in-law Bob Todd; daughter Jeannie, four sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2019 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Tyrone Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until service time on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street.
