Lacy’s Obituary Lacy Scott Shrewsbury, 69, of Lynwood Circle, Princeton, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, July 24, 2019, at Princeton Community Hospital with his family by his side. Born September 23, 1949, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Lacy Wilburn Shrewsbury Jr. and Shirley Irene McGraw Shrewsbury. Scott was a graduate of Princeton High School Class of 1967, and later graduated from Concord College in Athens with a bachelor’s degree in City Planning. He served his country honorably with the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. Scott had been in sales most of his life, starting at the Farm Bureau. He continued his career working with his dad for many years at Shrewsbury Electric and retired from Kimball & Associates in Charleston. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church serving as a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and was a member of the men’s quartet. Scott was very active with Greater Princeton Little League Baseball while his boys were growing up. He coached the boys team and also served as its President for several years. Scott loved photography and music but most importantly loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Connie Rachel Akers Shrewsbury; Three children, Rachel LeeAnne Hill and husband Daniel, Lacy Andrew Shrewsbury and wife Robin, Scott Alexander Shrewsbury; Three grandchildren, Nathan Wayne Andrew Shrewsbury, Madison Elizabeth Shrewsbury and Devin Ray Shrewsbury; Three siblings, David Shrewsbury and wife Billie, Joe Shrewsbury and wife Nancy, Melanie Stone and husband Jerry; Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services to celebrate the life of Scott Shrewsbury will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 29, 2019, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor Dan Jividen officiating. Burial will follow with military graveside rites provided by Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Honor Guard at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Princeton. Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 6 P.M. at the funeral home. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to: Immanuel Baptist Church, Elevator Fund, 264 New Hope Road, Princeton, WV 24740.
