Kong Bouakham age 94 of Elizabethtown passed away Saturday, July 13 2019 at her residence in Elizabethtown, KY. Kong was born on June 7, 1925 in Pakse, Laos to Phan and Noukao Phanbandith. In 1986 Kong came to the United States with her Daughter, Kinnalone Bouakham, Son, Inpone Tommy Bouakham, God Daughter, Boualone (Chanthalath) Niravong, and her Grand daughter, Thue (Bouakham) Ignacio. Her late Husband, two sons, and God Children later followed to start a new life in America. Kong was a stay at home mom and loved to garden. She enjoyed playing card games, knitting, doing various arts and crafts, traveling, spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and especially her dog, Peanut. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Phan and Noukao Phanbandith, her loving husband, Sythat Bouakham, eight of their children; Sysavath, Chamsamone, Bounsone, Khammone, Sakhone, and Khambone Bouakham. And their God son, Sythone Phanbandith. She is survived by her children, Katamphone (Tom) Senamontry of Elizabethtown, KY, Daovone (Boua) Bouakham of Elizabethtown, KY, Kinnalone (Sourideth) Douangboupha-Bouakham of Nashville TN, Nouphone (Soutsada) Bouakham of Smyrna TN, Inpone Tommy (Lattana) Bouakham of Shepherdsville, KY, Keoudone (Nouin) Bouakham of Pakse, Laos, and Sinnasone (Saiy) Bouakham of Salavan, Laos. Her God Children, David (Phouvang) Phanbandith of Elizabethtown, KY, Boualone (John) Niravong of Louisville, KY, Khanthaly (Virasack) Souksavong of Murfreesboro TN, and several grand children and great grand children in Kentucky, Tennessee, Hawaii, Thailand, France, and Laos. Funeral services will be held on Saturday July 20, 2019 1:00 pm at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Cremation Service will be held immediately after. Visitation will be Friday 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Saturday 10:30 am – 1:00 pm at Manakee Funeral Home. There will be a three day Traditional Lao blessing at her residence starting Thursday July 18. The Traditional Lao Service (Thak Baht) will be held on Sunday 10:00 am also at her residence in Elizabethtown.
