September 14, 1978 – June 28, 2019 Karen Hillis Smith, 40, of Grant, passed away Friday. She was preceded in death by father, Ervin “Ed” Hillis; aunt, Sara Stafford; and sister, Judy Dianne Hillis. Surviving are sons, Cody Smith, Chris Smith, and Chase Smith; daughter, Dyann (Jason) Jones; grandsons, Brayden Jones, and Karson Jones; granddaughters, EllaRain Smith, Emma Jones, and Karissa Jones; mother, Mildred Gwathney; sisters, Nancy Hudgins, and Dorothy Allen; brothers, Jamie Hillis, Kenneth Hillis, Robert Hillis, and Billy Hillis; father of her children, Quentin Smith; special friend, Mark Williams; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 PM to 8 PM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM , at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Moon Cemetery. www.nhfh.net
