BARBERTON – Joseph F. Chik, age 50, passed away on July 25, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 9, 1969 in Barberton to Joseph and Marjorie (Struckel) Chik, he was a life resident of the Barberton/Norton area. A 1987 graduate of Norton High School, Joe worked for Jared Electric for many years as an electrician. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Steelers and enjoyed listening to a variety of musical genres. Preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie in 2009; father, Joseph Chik; mother in-law, Nancy Mosley; he is survived by his daughters, Macey and Lilly of Barberton; mother, Marjorie A. of Barberton; sisters, Yvonne (Lonnie) Murdock of Akron, Joanne Chik of Barberton, Marcia (Mike) Suliks of New Franklin, Chris (Gordon) Cole of Uniontown; father in-law, David Mosley; Heather Chik of Barberton; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Monday, July 29th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Zak-Thacker & Monbarren Funeral Home, 132 N. Portage St., Doylestown. Private graveside services with inurnment at Greenlawn Memorial Park will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Summa Hospice, 1077 Gorge Blvd., Akron, OH 44310.
