John Scarff Hornung of Cedar Hill, Mo. passed away on June 28, 2019 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Mo. He was 79 years, 5 months, and 25 days of age. John Hornung was born on January 6, 1940 in Plainfield, New Jersey on January 6, 1940 to his parents: Carl and Virginia Scarff Hornung. He was united in marriage to Melba Roy. John Hornung is survived by his wife: Melba Roy Hornung of 50 years; daughter: Julie Repa and `fiance Darrel Meiser; two grandsons Brandon and Bryce Repa and their father Keith Repa; sister: Dorothy Akers and a brother: Michael. He and his twin brother Paul were born January 6, 1940 in Plainfield, New Jersey. Also sister-in-laws: Patti, Betty and Janet, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He and his parents and siblings moved to Skaneateles, N.Y. when he was in high school and then after high school he attended Auburn and Syracuse University. After college he moved back to New Jersey and worked as a Finance Manager. Mr. Hornung was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War. After moving to St. Louis he started his own company Medical Commercial Audit which is now operated by his daughter: Julie Repa. John Hornung is preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Virginia Hornung; a brother – Carl; and his twin – Paul.
