Joan’s Obituary Joan (Jodie) Wilson, age 89, peacefully passed away on July 10, 2019. She was born on January 1, 1930 in Little Rock, AR. to Robert E. and Lalah Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank S. Wilson, and one niece, Melita Jo Harris. She is survived by one son, Frank Scott Wilson, two grandchildren Sarah Wilson-Blaauw and Frank Seth Wilson, and one great-granddaughter, Charlotte Blaauw, all of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Margaret E. Armstrong of Colorado Springs, Colorado; nephew Doyle B. McAlister and spouse Nanci of Colorado Springs, Colorado; as well as great and great-great nieces. She was a long-time member of Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church and was a member of the Friendship Sunday School class, where she served as Secretary. Each Sunday morning for years she sang in the chancel choir and taught Sunday School. She was past President of The Daisy Garden Club, a member of Women For The Arts, tutored at Kennedy School, and volunteered with the Salvation Army’s annual fundraising luncheon. She and her husband of 63 years enjoyed traveling these United States, Canada, Nova Scotia, and the Bahamas. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 14th at 5pm at Texarkana Funeral Home on Texas Boulevard. Funeral service will be held Monday, July 15th at 11am at Hardy Memorial United Methodist Church.
