Jerry Lee Perry, Jr. January 21, 1967 – July 03, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Jerry Lee Perry, Jr, 52, of Krebs, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 in Sayre. The family will great friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Bishop Funeral Service in McAlester. A memorial service will he held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Bro. Donnie Taylor officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be David Byler, Garret Simmons, Wayne Flatt, Jimmy Martin, Dewey Guthrie, Danny Buckner, and Steve Iskey. Jerry was born on January 21, 1967 in Phoenix, Arizona to Jerry and Sharrie (Black) Perry. Jerry graduated from Payson High School in 1985 where he met and married the mother of his children. Jerry joined the United States Army in 1988 where he served as a medic. He received several meritorious awards and medals including the Expert Field Medical Badge while assigned to the 3rd Squadron of the 4th US Calvary Medical Platoon in Schweinfurt, Germany. He received an honorable discharge in 1991, joining the Department of Corrections one month later. Jerry climbed through the ranks to his current position as Deputy Warden at North Fork Correctional Center in Sayre where he was promoted just one month ago. Jerry was looking forward and preparing for retirement with the love of his life, Jonna (McMennamy) Goldsby, whom he married on December 19, 2009. Jerry was blessed to gain three more children and together they shared nine beautiful grandchildren. Jerry spent most of his free time hunting and fishing on his family’s land in Russellville. When he wasn’t able to hunt or fish, he and his best friend, Garret Simmons, were preparing for the next hunt or building things in his shop. He also enjoyed doing taxidermy, and he absolutely loved to cook. Nothing made him happier than to be surrounded by his family. Jerry was incredibly witty, never knowing what he was about to say or do. Jerry is survived by his loving wife: Jonna Kae Perry of the home; sons and daughter-in-law: Tanner and Amanda Perry of Haileyville, and Tucker Goldsby of Arrowhead Estates; daughters and sons-in-law: Hayley Perry and Tom Beverly of Haileyville, McKenzie and Garret Simmons of Krebs, Katelyn and Flint Barnes of McAlester, and Emalee Rodgers of McAlester. Also grandchildren: Hayven and Tannin Perry, Nathan, Nick, and Macy Miller, JP Poafpybitty, Gracie Kemp, Gatlyn Goldsby, and Ethan Barnes; parents: Glenn and Sharrie Jerdee of Peoria, Arizona, and Kenneth and Jettie McMennamy of Featherston; sisters and brothers-in-law: Teresa and Randy Liukkonen of Glendale, Arizona, Lisa and Eric Thompson of Phoenix, Arizona, Karen Giles of Santa Cruz, California, and Sarah and Justin Chaput of Pavillion, Wyoming; brothers and sisters-in-law: Kevin and Heather Perry of Payson, Arizona, Shane Perry of Riverton, Wyoming; brother-in-law: Kenny McMennamy of Savanna; and numerous other family members, friends, and his Department of Corrections family.
