James A. Vajda, 48, of Drums, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Residential Hospice Inpatient Unit in Wilkes Barre, following a five-month battle with cancer. Born in Hazleton, PA, August 11, 1970, he was the son of Janet (Mudrick) Vajda, Hazleton and the late Thomas Vajda and was a life-long resident of the area. He graduated from Hazleton High School in 1988 and obtained an Associate’s degree from Lincoln Tech. James was a Security System Technician for Vector Security, Wilkes-Barre. He enjoyed playing with his kids, watching football cheering on the Miami Dolphins and working on his home. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his loving wife, the former Kristin Washko to whom he was married on June 13, 1997; three children, Isabella, Jacob and Ryder Vajda, all of Drums; a sister Diane Paranac and her husband Dennis, Drums; brothers, Thomas Vajda, Jr., Hazleton; and Gary Vajda and his wife Cindy, Hazle Township; mother-in-law Carol Washko and father-in-law Jack Timony, Sugarloaf; nieces and nephews, Derek, Alexis, Anthony, Chandler, Olivia, and Brooklyn; great-niece, Sophia and great-nephew Cameron. His funeral will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019 with a Memorial Service at 11 AM from Harman Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. (East), 669 West Butler Drive, Drums. Deacon Leonard Kassick will officiate the service. Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9 AM until the time of the service.
