Iva Howell Rollins, 88, much loved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away surrounded by her loving family on July 27th, 2019. A longtime member of the Decatur Presbyterian Church and then the Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, she was active in her later years in the Goldtimers group, many of whom visited often when she was unable to attend. She was a graduate of Decatur Girl’s High School and was married to the late Richard D. Rollins of Decatur and Snellville. Together they began their family in the tight knit community of Decatur, Ga in the 1950’s, and later resided in the Norris Lake Community in Gwinnett County. After a life of encouraging learning and education in young persons, she retired from J. H. House Elementary School where she has maintained strong attachments to the staff. She is survived by her brother, Doug A (Red) Howell of Conyers; sister, Harriett (Reggie) Harrington of Ocean Isles Beach, SC; children: Drake Scott Rollins of Lilburn, Christine Gail Stancil of Conyers, Clifford Howell Rollins of Statum, Linda Elaine Rollins of Snellville, Barbara Ann Casey of Jersey, and Richard Dozier Rollins, Jr. of Good Hope; 13 grandchildren; as well as 13 beloved great-grandchildren.
