Irma’s Obituary Irma J. Gaither, 74, of Decatur, died June 25, 2019, in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2019, in Seitz Funeral Home, Moweaqua. Visitation will be from 11:30 – 1:00, prior to service time. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery, Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to LaPlace United Methodist Church. The family requests casual attire. Irma was born February 22, 1945 in Ramsey, IL, the daughter of John Melvin and Ina Gertrude (Murkin) Sanders. She married Larry E. Gaither December 21, 1974 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death March 17, 2018. Irma was a member of LaPlace United Methodist Church and Telecom Pioneers. She retired from Illinois Bell (AT&T) after 30 years of service. Irma enjoyed spending winters in Florida, getting her hair done, attending church and going out to eat. Surviving are her step-daughters: Jackie (Roger) Perry and Judy (Les) Jenkins, all of Decatur, IL; eleven grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Loretta Fortner of Decatur, IL and several nieces and nephews.
