Hornesta “Nana Cornee” Batangan Badua, 95 yrs. old, of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, passed away peacefully with the presence of several children and grandchildren , on the early morning of July 13, 2019. Hornesta was born in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on August 5, 1923, to parents Antonio Batangan and Laureana Butin Batangan. She married the love of her life Rafael Sotto Badua, on April 24, 1941. They celebrated 77 years of marriage together and had raised 10 children, 30 grandchildren, and also great grandchildren. Nana Cornee was a housewife who loved to garden. You could almost always find her in the yard smoking her hand rolled filipino cigar, looking over, taking care of, and watering her plants and flowers. Roses and Orchids were a couple of her favorite flowers among many others that she grew in her beautiful garden. She was always such a loving and caring person to her husband and all of her kids, even extended family and friends that always came over to the house. Hornesta is survived by children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren ; Maria Ancheta and Family, Jaime Badua and Family, Josephina Chan and Family, Lucrecia Ibos and Family, Lina Sacoco and Family, Basilio Badua and Family, Rafael Badua Jr. and Family, Fernando Badua and Family, and Corazon Alcaide and Family. Hornesta is preceded in death by son, Macario Badua and husband Rafael Badua. Services will be held at Valley of The Temple, Makai Chapel, on Friday, August 23, 2019; family viewing at 5:00 P.M. , public viewing 6:00 P.M., 7:00 P.M. service; Saturday, August 24, 2019, Family viewing 9:00 A.M. , public viewing 9:30 A.M., service 10:30 A.M., burial 12:00 P.M.
