Helene S. Wojciak, 94, a lifelong resident of the Ironbound Section of Newark passed away peacefully, on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the Troy-Hills Center– LTC of Parsippany, NJ. Helene worked for Rettig Oil of Newark (now Quality Air Conditioning and Heating of Springfield, NJ) for 25 years, retiring in 1994. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Casimir’s Church, Newark where she volunteered for bingo. Helene was a member of the Independence Park Friday Club, Clifford St. (now Rome St) and Providence St. Senior Citizens, all of the Ironbound. Wife of the late John “Jack“ O’Connor; beloved mother of Patricia O’Connor; dear sister of the late Louis, Edward, Alexander and Alfred Wujciak, Lillian Bavero, Alyce Simmons and Henry Wujciak; sister-in-law of Constance Lord Wujciak; also survived by many dear nieces and nephews. Visitation for Helene will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 from 8:30am to 10:00am at the Rucki-Bernauer (Buyus) Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette Street at Wilson Avenue, Newark, NJ; thence to St. Casimir’s Church, Newark, where at 10:30am, the Funeral Mass will be offered. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
