Memorial services for Harry S. Wortmann, age 74, of Lindale, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 20, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Lindale with Rev. Michael Peschke officiating. Harry died Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his residence in Lindale. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 6, 1945 to the late Harry William and Helene Uhrinak Wortmann and was previously of El Paso, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia before moving to Lindale in 1995. Harry owned and operated the Lindale Cleaners in Lindale, Texas and was previously a banker for State National Bank in El Paso and National Bank of Commerce in Dallas, Texas. He joined Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. in Atlanta, Georgia as a bank consultant. He started his own bank consulting firms, Results, Inc. and Financial Earnings Group, both in Atlanta, Georgia. Harry served his community with great wisdom, intelligence and a caring heart which include the Lindale Economic Development Corporation as Chairman, Lindale Education Foundation as Treasurer and previous member of the Hideaway Lake Kiwanis Club. He served as congregation president for Ascension Lutheran Church in Atlanta, Georgia and Trinity Lutheran Church in Tyler, Texas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lindale and was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick Wortmann and sister, Carole Wortmann Jones. Harry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Deborah Moore Wortmann of Lindale, Texas; daughters, Katherine Wortmann Teague and husband, Adam of Atlanta, Georgia, Stephanie Wortmann Sparacino of Atlanta, Georgia, Kelly Wortmann of Beaumont, Texas, Rebecca Wortmann of San Jose, California and Sarah Wortmann of Nacogdoches, Texas; granddaughters, Mariah Cedars of Lindale, Texas, and Elizabeth and Christina Sparacino of Atlanta, Georgia; great grandson, Wilder Brooks Cedars of Lindale, Texas; nephew and nieces, Philip Beard, Carolyn Beard and Whitney Jones.
