Harold’s Obituary Parks, Harold E. Ypsilanti Michigan Age 86, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 21, 2019. Harold was born June 7, 1933 in Marion, IL to parents George Trible and Nellie (Erwin) Parks. After a move to Ypsilanti in October 1951, he met his future wife Allene Thomas and they married February 9, 1953. Harold would then enlist in the Army on April 9, 1953, where he served our country for two years. He was hired by General Motors on April 24, 1961, where he worked various jobs for over 30 years, retiring in February of 1993. He held the position of final repairman in his last assignment at the Willow Run Assembly Plant. His strong work ethic led him to working on farms in Illinois, plowing fields with a team of horses, to a 30+ year career of building cars. In addition to being a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Harold loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his garden as time allowed. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed keeping up on current events. He and Allene attended several local churches over the years, as his Christian faith was an important aspect of his life. He made himself available to help others out; family, friends, church members and neighbors alike. Harold will be missed by all who knew him. In addition to his loving wife of 66 years, Harold is survived by: their four children, Harold “Mike” Parks, Bryan “Keith” Parks, Belinda Kaye Parks Pfeifer and Ronald Allen Parks. To these children and their spouses, there are nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Gerald. The funeral service will be 1:30 pm Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Stark Funeral Service where the family will receive friends from 11 am until time of service.
