Grace’s Obituary Grace Louise Jordan of Keystone Heights, Florida, formerly of Narragansett, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2019. She was the wife of the late Alfred Smith Jordan, whom she married on September 16, 1950. Born in Narragansett on April 29, 1930, Grace was the youngest child of Frank J. and Susan (Champlin) Gilbert. Grace loved her family above all else. She was a woman of strong faith and a former parishioner of St. Thomas More Church where she served on the Rosary and Altar Society. Grace enjoyed tending to her garden, her friends, crocheting and the company of a good book. Grace was an operator at New England Telephone for most of her adult life as well as a Girl Scout leader. After her retirement, she generously volunteered her time at The Johnnycake Center in Peace Dale. Grace was predeceased by her siblings, Marian (Gilbert) Smith and Ernest, Robert (“Pete”), Norman, Charles, Wallace (“Stubby”) and Stuart Gilbert. She is survived by her children, JoAnn Dyes of Providence, Jacki Jordan of Keystone Heights, FL and James (Lindalee) Jordan of North Kingstown as well as her grandchildren, Philip Engstrume of Ohio, Janelle, Jonathan and Toby Dyes of Rhode Island, Joanna Dyes of Michigan, Bruce Girouard, Monique Lussier and James Lussier all of Keystone Heights, Tayla White and Jennifer Jordan, both of North Kingstown, and James Jordan, Jr. of Wakefield, eighteen great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews and her godson, Joseph DeSantis.
