Glenna Verlene (Shirley) Hurst, 80, of Fairland, IN passed away June 30, 2019. She was born in Cave City, AR to parents Netti Bee (Byrd) and Earvin Arvis Shirley. Survivors include her husband, Carl L. Hurst; sons, Kenny R. (Mary Jean) Hurst, Roger C. (Beth) Hurst; daughter, Karen L. Flanary; sisters, Virginia Phipps, Doris Pendleton; brothers, Arvis (Janis) Shirley, Paul (Colleen) Shirley; grandchildren: Matthew Hurst, Brian Hurst, Heather Yount, Amanda Waugh, Andy Flanary, Brad Flanary, Melissa McKinley, Stephanie Cave, Ben Hurst, Brandon Hurst, Roger Hurst, Aaron Hurst; great grandchildren: Edin, Rylee, Byntlee, Tyson, Blake, Elise, Jenna, Landon, Graham, Lindsay, Braden, Miranda, Lydia, Kane, Payton, Carter, Ha’ani, Brayden, Brianna, Rylan and Wyatt. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Charles Shirley; son-in-law, Bill Flanary; grandchild, Kari Flanary. Glenna was a member of the Shelbyville Church of Christ. She enjoyed crocheting, going to church and spending time with family, especially her grandkids. She was a wonderful and compassionate mom, friend, wife, grandma, and cook. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 5, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. at Bell Mortuary & Crematory, 1444 W. US Hwy 52, Fountaintown, IN 46130. Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service at the mortuary. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Smith. Burial will be at Fairland Cemetery in Fairland, IN.
