Gertie Ann Guillory July 28, 1939 – July 18, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook PORT BARRE ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas for Gertie Ann Guillory, age 79, the former Gertie Ann Guidroz, who passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019 at her residence in Port Barre. Interment will be in St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville. Pastor Benji Richard will officiate at the services. Mrs. Guillory was a native of Leonville and lived most of her life in Port Barre. She was a teacher’s aide with the St. Landry Parish School Board and retired with over twenty years of employment. Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Harry Guillory of Port Barre; three sons, Darrel Steve Guillory and his wife, Denise, of Youngsville, Danny Guillory of Lafayette and Clyde Guillory of Port Barre; one daughter, Judy Guillory Perry and her husband, Keith, of Carencro; three grandchildren, Brittany Guillory Courville and her husband, Paul, Hunter Perry and his wife, Hillary, and Heath Perry and his wife, Desiree; four step grandchildren, Rob Perry, Jacob Higginbotham, Ariana Guillory and Daniel Guillory; four great grandchildren, Connor, Ava and Wyatt Courville and Isaac Higginbotham; one sister, Viola Meche and her husband, Ronnie, of Sunset; and one sister-in-law, Patsy Guidroz of Arnaudville. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aurelien Guidroz and the former Anna Lalonde; one daughter-in-law, Celine Guillory; and one brother, Gervis Guidroz. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and will continue from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Pallbearers will be Clyde Guillory, Steve Guillory, Keith Perry, Paul Courville, Hunter Perry and Heath Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Connor and Wyatt Courville.
