Gary W. Nurnberger, 66 years old of Red Bud, IL, passed away on July 19, 2019 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was born on October 28, 1952, in Red Bud, IL, the son of Earl Nurnberger and Augusta (nee Worthen) Nurnberger. Gary was a veteran of the United States Army and later worked as a coal miner. He married Luann (nee Stellhorn) Nurnberger on April 17, 1993, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie), IL. Surviving are his wife, Luann Nurnberger; his son, Ryan (Meredith) Nurnberger; his two daughters, Jaclyn (Mitchell) Davis, Rebecca (Timothy) Roustio; his granddaughter, Aria Davis; his siblings, Earline Johnson, Roger Nurnberger, and Bonnie Wedel; his step-siblings, Brenda (Mike) Nelson, Sharon (Cletus) Kelley, and Curt (Chris) Miller; his brother-in-law, James Stellhorn; his sister-in-law, Janet (Bill) Braun; the mother of his children, Jane Nisinger, along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-parents, Olin Kettelkamp and Doris A. Nurnberger; his father and mother-in-law, Oliver and Olga Stellhorn. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 23, 2019, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home, Red Bud, IL, and one hour prior to the start of funeral services at the church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), IL, with Rev. Russell Koen officiating. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or The American Heart Association .
