Garry Hill Light, 63, of Danville, VA, died on Saturday, July 27, 2019, at Starling View Manor, Martinsville, VA, after a decline in health for the past few years. Mr. Light was born in Danville, VA, on June 22, 1956, a son of the late Pleasant Hill Light and Annalee Scott Light, who survives. He spent most of his life in the Danville area where he worked as a machinist until his retirement. He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was of the Baptist Faith. In his spare time, he loved working on Ford mustangs. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a son, Scott Hampton Light (Jamie); two grandsons, Abel Cash Light and Landon Scott Light; and five siblings, Barry Light, Rebecca Collins (Harold), Gina Martin (Curtis), Perry Light, and Wesley Light. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel with Pastor Wayne Aaron officiating. Interment will follow the service in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. The family will be meeting at 3120 Westover Drive after the Interment. Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel is respectfully serving the Light family.
