Ernest Lee Middleton March 15, 1952 – July 14, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Ernest Lee Middleton was born on March 15, 1952 in Edisto Island, South Carolina, to Lucille Middleton who preceded him in death, and Arthur Lee Rivers. He attended Baptist Hill High School and graduated in 1967. Ernest came to New York to start a life in 1970. In 1972, he wedded Elizabeth Jenkins, they were blessed with one son, Desmond Middleton. He started working at Zale’s jewelry store as a jewelry polisher in 1979. And worked as a Truck Driver until 1999. In 2001 until 2017, he was the superintendent of several buildings in Harlem and had the respect and confidence of all the tenants and management while there. Ernest leaves behind: a wife, Elizabeth Middleton; a son, Desmond Middleton; a granddaughter, Meya Middleton; three sisters, Debra Elaine Raysor, Lillian Rivers and Pamela Rivers; one sister-in-law, Ebony Rivers; two brothers, Arthur Lee Rivers, Jr. and Rodney Rivers; two aunts, Rosa Middleton and Dorothy Middleton; one uncle, Edgar Campbell; and a host of nieces, grand nieces, nephews, grand nephews, cousins and friends who had tremendous love for him.
