Eric’s Obituary Eric W. Sutton of Hampton Bays passed away on July 29, 2019 at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of Maureen for 60 years and the proud father of Ricky (Robin), Brian, Donald (Liz), Kevin (Debbie), Bobby (Kathleen) and Christopher (Catherine). He was the cherished Pop-Pop of Brian, Rebecca, Jason, Brittany, Kristin, Cody, Austin, Stephen, Liam, Grace and Eric. He is also survived by his brother George, a full extended family and many wonderful friends. Born in Inwood, NY, Eric and Maureen raised their six sons in Richmond Hill and Flushing, NY. He was a proud steamfitter for 50 years in Local 638. He was the St. Andrews athletic director for 20 years. In 1960, he and Maureen bought a house in Hampton Bays and made it their primary residence in 2001. He became the “Shepherd” of the Irish American Society where he served as President for 15 years and was an active member of St. Rosalie’s Church. Besides his beloved role as husband, father and grandfather, two of his greatest honors were Irish American of the Year and the Grand Marshal of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Hampton Bays. Eric lived a full and beautiful life and will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Visiting for Eric Sutton will be on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the R. J. O’Shea Funeral Home. A funeral mass at St. Rosalie’s Church is scheduled for Thursday, August 1st at 10:30. A burial will follow at Good Ground cemetery in Hampton Bays. Read More
