Earl’s Obituary Memorial services for Earl John Thibodeaux, 73, will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Holy Family Cemetery. Earl passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Camelot of Broussard. Deacon Wade Broussard will be the officiant with a military graveside service to follow. A resident of New Iberia, Earl J. Thibodeaux was born on November 15, 1945 in New Orleans. He was raised in Weeks Island, LA by the late Paul “Polo” Thibodeaux and Anna Rawlins Thibodeaux. He was drafted by the US Army in 1965 and served in the Vietnam War as a Combat Engineer. Upon returning, he worked in the construction and boating industry. In his younger years, he loved long motorcycle trips on his Harley Davidson. In retirement, he enjoyed bowling and became a commercial fisherman. He is survived by his companion of 13 years, Shirley Landry Hoffpauir, step nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step brothers: Clarence P. Thibodeaux, Harris J. Thibodeaux, Leroy Thibodeaux; one step sister, Marie Thibodeaux Rogers.
