2019
Our dear, wonderful mother, Doris (Sis) Germaine (Marineau) Van Domelen, 91, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord Jesus on Saturday, July 13, 2019. We are comforted knowing she is now at peace with a new beginning in Christ and eternity. Our kind, caring, amazing mother will be dearly missed. We cannot count the ways this remarkable woman poured her love into those around her. Her life was devoted to her family and we all have such beautiful memories that we will hold close to our hearts forever. Doris was born December 19, 1927 in Marinette WI to the late Leo and Lucille (McGuire) Marineau. She graduated from Marinette High School in the class of 1946. Doris married the late William Van Domelen, Jr. in Newberry, MI. She was a member of Resurrection Parish for many years. Besides Doris being a stay-at-home mom for seven children, she was a bookkeeper for many years for VG&R Furniture. In her later years she worked as a caregiver for many area families. In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by her son Paul Van Domelen of Menominee, MI and three brothers, Robert Marineau, Richard Marineau and James Marineau. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, for the repose of the soul of Doris Van Domelen at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Catholic Church in Menominee, on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, with Fr. Brian Gerber presiding. Burial will follow at Forest Home Cemetery in Marinette. This is a casual event so please come as you are. A Celebration of Life held on Tuesday at Little River Country Club beginning at 5 p.m. that will include a social gathering and dinner. All friends and family are invited to attend. The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Rennes Health Center and the hospice caregivers at Unity. Their kindness and care for our mother will not be forgotten. “God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, not crying, neither shall there be any pain; for the former things passed away.” Revelation 21:4
