Doris Caroline Byrd Sharpe, 77, passed away July 30, 2019. A native of Moore County, North Carolina, daughter of the late Isaac and Ella Whitaker Byrd, she was a retired employee of Allen Bennett Hospital and a member of Covenant United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, James Carlton Sharpe, Sr. of the home; two daughters, Lisa Sharpe Nied (John) of Decatur, Georgia and Lori Ann White of Taylors; a step-son, Carlton Sharpe, Jr. (Lynne) of Greer; a brother, James Byrd (Gayle) of Lexington, North Carolina; a sister, Barbara Bailey (Albert) of Tyro, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Alexis White, Jacob White and Tiffany Sharpe; and one great-grandchild, Jayden Bailey. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2019 at Covenant United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held 11:00-11:45 a.m. Friday at the church. The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape Hospice, 529 Mills Ave., Greenville, SC 29605.
