Doris Ann’s Obituary Carpenter, Doris Ann Ypsilanti, MI Age 71, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born March 20, 1948 in Hazard, KY, the daughter of Alonzo and Mattie (Dunigan) Begley. On November 20, 1965, she married Archie Carpenter and he survives. Doris was an event planner, a wonderful cook and a clown always making everyone laugh. She was a wife, mom, sister, grandma, great grandma, niece, aunt, cousin, a Christian and great worker for the Lord. She would help all that she came in contact with, even strangers if they needed help. Everyone that knew her loved her. She will be greatly missed. In addition to her loving husband of 53 years, survivors include: three daughters, Theresa Carpenter, Gwenna (Gary) Adkins and Lori (Duane) Hunter; three grandchildren, Matthew Ward, Justin (Brittney) Ward and Darren Hunter; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry (Shelly) Begley and Doug (Kolette) Yeider; two sisters-in-law, Norma Vance and Louise Smith; one brother-in-law Ben Carpenter; and several special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Truman Amburgey and one sister Gwen Scott. The funeral service will be 11 am Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Ridge Road Church of Christ, 1770 Ridge Road, Ypsilanti with Mr. Leonard White officiating. Burial will follow in Washtenong Memorial Park. The family will greet friends 3-8 pm Friday at Stark Funeral Service and at the church from 10 am until time of service Saturday. Read More
