Donna Lisa Wright went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 23, 2019. Visitation/Viewing: 4-6 PM Saturday July 27th at Blessing Funeral Home, 401 Elm St. Mansfield, TX 76063. Celebration of Donna’s Life: 3-5 PM Sunday July 28th in the “Boondocks”. Attire: Bright colors only “Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.” Tony Robbins Born in Austin, Texas, on April 10, 1959 and adopted by the late Bill J. Doggett and Kathryn (Doggett) Bywaters, Donna embodied the gift of life in everything she did and every relationship she had. She designed a life she loved and made a positive impact on everyone she met. As a child, Donna lived in Texas with her parents and her brothers. After college, she lived in WI, FL, CA and her beloved Texas where she convinced her brother Steve and his family to live too. She had that kind of influence! Donna adored her mother, Kathryn, and recently posted a mother’s day tribute to her stating she wanted to be just like her when she grew up. Donna was an amazing mother to Jen, Josh, and Morgan and many other children. From elementary school room mom, to team mom for the baseball, soccer and swim teams, she was always there for the kids! As a cheer coach for the high school, she left a remarkable legacy. She not only coached, she mentored, mothered, nurtured, guided and inspired hundreds of teen girls in the formative years of their lives. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of so, so many. She cherished raising her children and creating memories. They spent time on the family’s boat and at their condo in Lake Tahoe where Donna would sit reading by the fire while watching her children ski and play in the snow. God designed an extraordinary woman who always knew how to pick the perfect gift, give the right words of support and encouragement, how to make every occasion memorable and make every person feel loved. Finding Mr. Wright. When Byron and Donna met in October 2007, he knew immediately that she was an exceptional woman. Months later, they traveled the southwest states never even turning the radio on. For Donna he was Mr. Right (Wright) and he was a native Texan too. On a snowy New Years Eve 2009 in Lake Tahoe, Byron proposed, and with nothing less than a fairytale wedding, Byron and Donna were married on July 31, 2010. Byron penned Donna a love poem titled “Another Chance”. An excerpt: “So oft are the memories, you and I on a boat, Sweeter dreams I can scarcely emote. In such a short span, we already have so many special times ago, For the first time in my life I have met a soul who I will never outgrow. Donna accomplished living, loving and giving in an unprecedented way. Donna filled her days planning, whether it be a weekend outing, an international trip, or a creative video for family and friends. She loved to golf and once told Byron that if he wanted to spend time with her, he was going to learn to play. As President of Walnut Creek Country Club’s Ladies Evening Golf Group (LEGG), she welcomed and embraced every member, new or old. Under her leadership, LEGG achieved record membership. Donna adored furry friends as well. She was a volunteer for Love on a Leash and would take her pets to senior living centers to cheer up the residents with companion therapy. She was philanthropic in many areas of her life, including giving a monthly donation to animal charities in her grand-dog, Duncan’s name. Byron and Donna loved the mountains and the beach. They recently traded the mountains and snow for the beautiful Destin, FL emerald green waters. Their new condo at Surfside Resort, named “Wright by the Beach,” was her newest venture and she was excited to share it with family and friends. Donna is survived by her beloved husband, Byron of Burleson, TX; adoring daughter Jen (Josh) Nettinga of Anchorage, AK; loving son Josh (Amy) Huss of Green Bay, WI; step daughter, Morgan Wright of Berkeley, CA; mother and step father Kathryn and Walter Bywaters of Georgetown, TX; brothers Steve (Taffy) Doggett of Austin, TX and Paul (Shanna) Doggett of Comanche, TX; sisters in law Adrian (Leonard) Mays of Saginaw, TX and Diane Bradford of Bastrop, TX, the father of her children, Bruce Huss, nieces, nephews, and numerous relatives and friends. Forever our angel, these are the words Donna would want each of us to remember. “When tomorrow starts without me , and I am not here to see if the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me. I wish you wouldn’t cry, the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we did not get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you. Each time that you think of me, I know you will miss me too. When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. The angel said my place was ready in heaven far above and that I would have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But, when I walked through Heaven’s Gates I felt so much at home, when God looked down and smiled at me from his golden throne. He said this is Eternity and all I promised you. Today for life on earth is done but here it starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, for today will always last and since each day’s the exact same way, there is no longing for the past. So when tomorrow starts without me, do not think we are apart. For every time you think of me, Remember, I am right here in your heart.” David M.
