Donald E. Swearingen, 76, of Andover, died, Thursday, July 18, 2019, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, July 21, 2019, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Visitation will be from Noon until services time Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Andover Fire Department. Don was born on November 1, 1942, in Kewanee, IL, the son of Russel Dean and Frances (Jacob) Swearingen. He married Joyce Marie Little on July 1, 1961, in Preston, Minnesota. He retired as a tool and die maker at John Deere after 36 years. He was a member of the Cambridge Masonic Lodge #49, the Moose Lodge in Kewanee, Henry County Sheriff’s Office Auxiliary, and a volunteer with the Andover Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Joyce; children, Teresa (Don) Stickle, Donald E. Swearingen, Jr.; sister, Bonnie (John) Engel; brother, Kenneth (JoAnne) Swearingen; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers.
