Donald “Bubby” Carlson July 15, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card Donald “Bubby” Carlson, age 90, of Baxter and formerly Pine River, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was born to Gustav and Hannah Carlson in Slayton, MN. He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Bubby is survived by his wife of 70 years, Arlyn; daughters: Bebop (CJ), Chrissy, Sammy, Tammy (Denny), Paka (Chuck); grandchildren: Tyler, Bobby Jo (Gene), Shelby, Ryan (Shelby), Karen; great grandchildren: Miranda, Teegan, Brailee, Brittany, Brianna, Brooke; great-great grandchild, Aubrey; and sister, Judy Raph. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav “Shorty” and Hannah Carlson; sons, Doug and Donald, Jr. “Bubbins”; grandson, Bryan; brothers, Vern, Allen, and David; and son-in-law, Kyle Tulenchik. We were so lucky to have him for so many years as a husband, father, grandfather, mentor and friend. Services will be 2 PM on Sunday, July 21, at Faith Lutheran Church, Swanburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial with military honors will follow at Swanburg Cemetery.
