Dexter Baine Price, 77, passed away Friday, July 26, 2019 at the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City from complications of lung disease and cancer. He was born October 16, 1941 in Marion, Virginia the son of Elmer Graham Crouse and Alice Ruth Tarter. He was later adopted by Russell Junior Price. Dexter graduated from Highlands High School California, Class of 1960. Following graduation, he served a mission in Brazil for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He attended Weber State College and met Olivia Kay Wagstaff. They were married December 16, 1965 in the Salt Lake Temple. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. He owned several businesses including a pet shop, convenience store and screen printing shop. He also worked for Deseret Industries, Your Valet Dry Cleaning and Davis School District. He loved to draw and was a commercial artist. He served in two bishoprics and in the Bountiful and Jordan River temples. He loved to camp, hike, fish, work in the garden, vacation and go to theme parks and on cruises. Dexter and Olivia were just one day short of their 48th anniversary when Olivia passed away from cancer in 2013. He met Brenda Lee Clark in 2015 and they were married September 14, 2016 in the Provo City Center Temple. Surviving are his wife Brenda, West Valley; sister Tanya Anderson, Layton; daughters Kay Lynne Charriere, Layton; Misty Jarrett, Grand Junction, CO; Teliece Price, Hawaii; son Zariph Price, Farmington; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was also survived by Brenda’s family: three sons, one daughter, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Kristy Luz Price, grandson Luquade Newman and wife Olivia Kay Wagstaff Price. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Hunter 12th Ward, 6755 W. 3800 S. West Valley City. Friends may visit family Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
