Dennis’ Obituary Dennis F. Howe, 75 of Freeport, IL, died on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Madison, WI. Born December 13, 1943, in Freeport; the son of Fred and Dolores (Richardson) Howe. He married Carol Sue Dame on April 19, 1969 in Freeport at Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. William Griebel. Dennis was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He worked for General Casualty Ins. Co. as a Senior Personal Lines Underwriter for 35 years. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Freeport. Dennis volunteered at FHN Memorial Hospital and his church. He enjoyed traveling, reading, working in the yard, playing cards, and being with friends. Surviving are his wife, Carol Sue of Freeport; one son, Kevin Howe of Oshkosh, WI; and grandson, Tyler Howe of Oshkosh. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Austin Howe. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 4th from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Freeport. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 5th at 11:00 a.m. also at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Winkelman and Rev. Dr. Willis R. Schwichtenberg presiding. There will be a visitation before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church for the A/V system and the FHN Foundation Volunteer Service. Condolences may be shared at www.walkermortuary.com.
