She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend, and most importantly God’s servant. She was the embodiment of Faith, Family and Friends. She always put herself second. She was there for everybody who needed a hand. Right up until the end she was always concerned about her husband and others and how she was being needy and requiring too much of our time. She was always apologizing to the medical staff for being such a bother. She’s in the hands of the Lord and she will be an asset in heaven. Dawn was the fourth child of five and her siblings are Dan, Debi, David, and Darci. Dawn was always devoted to her parents and helped them in their later years. She always found time to do whatever was necessary to make their life better. Recently, Dawn was there for her bother Dan who recently lost his wife to cancer earlier this year. Dawn loved her family unconditionally. She was a good student in high school but an even better track star. She held several records and competed in State Finals several times. Before finishing college, she moved to Texas in January of 1984 with her young son Ben and started a new life. Debi, her older sister helped her out and before long, Dawn was in a new apartment, new job and going to school. At that new apartment she met Richard Drouillard. Richard and Dawn started dating in June of 1985 and were married July 12th, 1986. They started their new life with Ben in a new home in Wylie Texas. Richard and Dawn added to their family when she gave birth to Carly Michelle on April 27th, 1989. They continued to live in Wylie until November 1996 when they moved to Plano. The new home was very close to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, so they joined their Parrish. Besides attending weekly services Richard and Dawn were very involved with activities at the church including religious education, Love Truck and Meals on Wheels. Dawn devoted herself to God and the Catholic religion. Dawn lived a Christian life and she demonstrated it daily. Dawn’s family was always a priority to her, whether her husband, children, grandchildren or her mother and father, she was always there for them. Dawn started working in the corporate world with the Staubach Company in the accounting and IT departments. She found that she had the talent and skill working with computers. While at the Staubach Company she became pregnant with their first child. Roger Staubach treated employees as family, so when Dawn was in the hospital after giving birth to Carly, Roger and his wife Marianne came to visit her in the hospital. She really enjoyed working for the Staubach Company. But she was so successful in the IT field several career opportunities were available to her to choose from. She was offered a job at Fidelity Investments and work there as an IT manager where she successfully earned her Series 7 license. Again, Dawn was presented with other career opportunities where she excelled at all of them. At every one of the companies she earned “Employee of the Year” at least once. She eventually ended up at Securus Technologies where she was an invaluable employee as IT Director until her illness. When Carly went to college in the fall of 2007 Dawn wanted to do something that would occupy her time since Carly was gone to attend Oklahoma State University. She always wanted to work in the medical field, so she studied to get her EMT certificate. Once again through her relentless drive and determination she finished 1st in her class and obtained her certificate while working her full time IT job. She just didn’t get one job but two positions as an EMT. Dawn was an ambulance driver for Care Flight and an EMT at Children’s Medical Center emergency room. She loved attending to the injured children that came in the ER. The many hours working 3 jobs was starting to wear her down. Therefore, she quit Care Flight after a couple of years. Dawn truly cared for the injured children, which was confirmed by the many letters from parents to the administration giving Dawn praise on how she treated their child. Dawn was an extraordinary individual, who was dedicated to whatever job she was doing. Dawn enjoyed reading, pets, sports and travelling. Dawn read a variety of books, but she always read John Grisham novels. Dawn loved her pets. Her favorite are her Pugs but also adored her cats. She loved to watch and attend football, baseball, and golf. Dawn especially enjoyed the summer Olympics and Michael Phelps. She was a super fan of Michael and enjoyed watching him perform. Dawn and Richard enjoyed travelling together to Hawaii, New York City, the Caymans, Las Vegas, the Texas and California Wine Country and various big cities around the country each year. Dawn relished the water and sand in Hawaii and the Broadway Shows in New York City. But most of all Dawn Loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be missed immensely by all who knew her. Dawn is survived by her loving husband Richard Drouillard; children Ben Harman and his wife Shelby, Carly Drouillard and her husband Mike Moorman; grandchildren Nathan Whitehead, Colton and Cale Moorman, Nora and Gabe Harman (twins); parents Dale and Betty Murray; siblings Dan Murray, Debbie Becker and her husband Todd, David Murray and his wife Donita, Darci Magill and her husband Lee; brother and sisters in law Greg Drouillard and his wife Suzanne Bryan, Lisa Arnold an her husband Ed; she is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and many friends. Dawn was preceded in death by her sister in law Janice Murray. There will be a mass celebrated on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, Texas 75023 with The Reverend Bruce Bradley, officiating. Dawn will be laid to rest at the St Elizabeth Ann Seton Columbarium as part of the service. Following the service there will be a reception held in the Parrish Hall.
