LOWVILLE, NY ~ David L. Raymond, 62, of Syracuse, NY, and formerly of Lowville, died unexpectedly on June 25, 2019 at his Brighton Ave. home in Syracuse. Born in Lowville, NY on July 30, 1956, a son of Richard A. and Joan M. (Parkhurst) Raymond, he was a 1975 graduate of Lowville Academy. He later graduated from Jefferson Community College in Watertown. For much of his adult life, David resided in Albany, NY and in Syracuse where he worked as a Clerk 2 for the Economic Services Unit of the Onondaga County Department of Social Services before retiring after 12 years of service. During his younger years, David enjoyed camping with his family at Sand Pond and was known throughout his life for his fondness of animals. He was an avid reader and loved watching old movies. Survivors include three sisters, Mary Jo (Bruce) Mustare, Susan M. Ennis and Rebecca A. (Edwin) Evans, all of Lowville, sister-in-law, Kay Raymond, of Newark, Delaware, an uncle, Ronald Parkhurst, of Woodbury, CT, two aunts, Hope Blencowe, of Durhamville, NY, and Karen Freedman, of Frankfort, NY, and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both parents, his brother, James M. Raymond, and his sister, Sandra Raymond O’Connor. David’s funeral services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Lewis County Humane Society, 6388 Pine Grove Rd., P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367. Arrangements are with Scanlon Funeral Home, Croghan.
