David’s Obituary David LeRoy Dannar, 70 of Brush, CO, passed away in an accident involving his semi-truck near Dallas, TX on July 8, 2019. He was born May 18, 1949 to Earl LeRoy and Hazel Nadine (Compton) Dannar in Akron, CO. He spent his childhood in Lindon, CO and graduated from Woodlin School, Woodrow, CO in 1967. He was a member of the Woodlin Chapter of Future Farmers of America and later would serve as an officer of the Colorado Young Farmers Educational Association. Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a mechanic for naval air. In 1969 he married Judy LaVonne Schmidt in Greeley, CO and in 1979 they adopted a son, Jeremy David. They lived in the Last Chance area until 2002, when they moved to Brush, CO. In addition to being an over-the-road truck driver, Dave at one time owned a farrow-to-finish pig operation in partnership with Dennis Everhart. He was also Transportation Director, auto mechanics instructor, and boys basketball coach at Woodlin School, where he led the team to regional playoffs, which was the highest accomplishment the school had achieved at that point in time. He was also an avid golfer, softball player, and bowler. Dave was a charter member of Baptist Country Chapel, Lindon, CO, where he served on the Deacon Board. He is survived by his wife; his son Jeremy (Melissa) of Shullsburg, WI; two brothers, Delbert (Pam) of Grand Junction, CO and Daryl (Joyce) of Greeley, CO; one sister Dorletta (Rex) Hildebrand of Three Rivers, CA, as well as a step-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Inurnment will be at the Brush Cemetery Columbarium. A Memorial Service will be held at the Heer Mortuary Chapel, 222 Cameron Street, Brush, CO, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019.
