Cynthia Maxine Poovey Bost of Conover passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Trinity Village. Born September 15, 1947 in Catawba County she was the daughter of the late W. Harold Poovey and Dorothy Ennis Poovey. Cynthia was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hickory. She retired from Frye Regional Medical Center where she was a mail room supervisor. Cynthia loved cats, the Atlanta Braves, singing in the choir, watching crime and baseball on tv, and especially spending time with her grandchildren (triplets!) She is survived by her husband Joe Edward Bost of the home; her son Derek Edward Bost and wife Kristy of Hickory; two brothers Terry Poovey and wife Cherin of Winston-Salem and Michael Poovey of Hickory; grandchildren Dagan Bost, Kayla and Kara Bost and sister- in -law Gaye Williams and husband Rob of Morganton, NC. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Catawba Memorial Park with the Rev. Paul Christy officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Bass-Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the First United Methodist Church Music Fund. Bass-Smith Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family of Cynthia Maxine Poovey.
