COY EDWYN SMITH, age 75 of Selma, passed away on July 18, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Jemison, AL on June 13, 1944; the son of the late Oscar Smith and the late Lynn Lovett Smith. He was a former maintenance man with Hammer Mill. He is survived by: Son, James (Vickie) Smith of Maplesville, AL; Son, Stacy (Michelle) Smith of Clanton; Son, Ricky (Teresa) Smith of Clanton; Daughter, Kathy (Willie) Thomas of Selma; Grandchildren: Trahe (Savannah) Smith, Kyle Smith, Lane Smith, Courtney Smith, Tyler Collins, Lance Collins, Mollie Kayte Smith, Sam Smith, Faith Smith, Gracie Smith, and David and Dylan Sanders; Great Grandchild, Trahely-Ann Smith; Brother, Rolin Smith; Brother, Junior Smith; Brother, Reuben Smith; Sister, Gail Ewing; and Sister, Ann Pardue. He is preceded in death by: Wife, Connie Ann Smith; Grandchild, Ricky Allen Smith; Grandchild, Blake Smith; Great Grandchild, River Blake Smith; Sister, Ruth Simmons; Sister, Violet Campbell; Frances Everine Martin; and Brother, Carl Smith. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 6-8pm at Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Haggard and Rev. Willie Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Pilgrims Rest Baptist Cemetery in Plantersville, AL.
