Colleen Ryan of Gig Harbor, WA passed away Sunday June 30, 2019. Colleen Laverne Rich was born February 27, 1949 in Lake Preston, SD to parents Alfred (Ted) and Joan Rich. She grew up in Huron and Lake Preston, SD and graduated from Lake Preston High School. In June of 1967 she married John Dean Sr. and moved to Seattle, WA. In February, 1980 she married Steven Ryan in Bellevue, WA. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for multiple businesses throughout her career including several Schwartz Brothers restaurants. She most recently enjoyed working closely to help support her husband in the family business. Whether it was a road trip to visit family or to witness the Redwoods of California, she was always up for an adventure. Her most frequently visited out of town spots consisted of a handful of quaint little harbor towns including Poulsbo, Friday Harbor, and the San Juan Islands where she spent time exploring the charming shops, parks, restaurants and bakeries. She is survived by her husband, Steve, her son John (Lara) Dean, daughters Bobbi Hoffman and Stefanie (Clint) Kiborn, 10 grandchildren, mother Joan Rich, brother Curtiss Rich (Terrie) Rich, sister Mary (Reed) Hauck, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Ted Rich. Private committal services will be held at a later date.
