Clyde McVay of Irving, Texas February 7, 1925 – July 26, 2019 Florence Clyde McVay, 94, a resident of Irving since 1988, formerly of Bonham and Dallas, died Friday, July 26, 2019 at her home. Born February 7, 1925 in Bonham, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Henry Albert Smith and Hugh Alice DeArmond Smith. A graduate of Bonham High School in 1941, she married J. D. McVay October 26, 1946 in Dodd City, Texas. He preceded her in death December 24, 2017. She worked as an assembler for Collins Radio for twenty-one years, retiring in 1983 and was a member of Oak View Baptist Church in Irving. The last of eight siblings, she was preceded in death by five brothers, True Smith, Doyle Smith, Troy Smith, Calvin Smith and R. L. Smith and two sisters, Mable Sewell and Ella Leslie. Survivors include her son David McVay and his wife Barbara of Irving; a granddaughter Kathryn Hearn of Irving; two great granddaughters, Aubry Hearn of Irving and Amber Hearn Martinez and husband Ricardo of Alexandria, Virginia; and two great-great grandchildren, Bella Preston and Benjamin Lopez. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway. The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas.
