Mr. Clayton Brown passed away Saturday morning, July 27, 2019 at his home in Butte. He was born in Sisseton, South Dakota on September 21, 1931 to Claude and Dora Brown. He served his country in the United States Army from January 1952 until January 1954. He married the love of his life, Gladys Gronke in August of 1954 in South Dakota and in 1955 they moved to Deer Lodge then Anaconda and finally Butte. He lived in Butte for 53 years and worked for the Anaconda Company and Montana Resources until his retirement in 1993. He was an exceptional man that could fix anything that was of interest or a challenge to him. He was a loving family man who would do anything to help his family and others in need. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping. Clayton is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, daughter Terry Craik, sons Jeff Brown (Linda) and Darren Brown (Pat), 12 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Dora Brown, father and mother-in-law, Jack and Katie Gronke, sons, Keith, Kirt and Clay Jr., two great-granddaughters, 3 brothers, 1 sister, 3 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law.
