Carla Jackson went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 29, 2019. She was born to Pearl Francis Carpenter and Lilla Belle Henderson Carpenter, March 27, 1943, in Houston, Texas. Services will be held in the Chapel of McWhorter Funeral Home, on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Alan Metzel conducting. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McWhorter Funeral Home. Carla left a legacy of four children, Diana Quinn and husband, Phillip, Susie Bullock and husband, John, Paula Robison and husband, Greg, Bryan Jackson and wife, Julie; seven grandchildren, Clint and wife, Katie, Natalie and husband, Miles, Megan, Melanie, Morgan, Alex, Keaton; eight great grandchildren, Jack, Asher, Judah, Cooper, Shiloh Beth, Hudson, Charlie and Carly Ann. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; brother, David; and grandson, Charles S. Quinn. She touched their lives with her love and humor. She inspired us with a warrior’s heart and spirit, battling cancer heroically for over 20 months. She has gone to be with our Father and her loving husband. The family would like to show their appreciation for all of the support received from family and friends during these difficult months. In particular, Heart To Heart Hospice in which Aleshia Fatheree and Staci Griffith cared for our mother with dignity and kindness. We are forever grateful to them. Pallbearers will be Crispin Gipson, Mark Johnson, Joe Lynn Tillery, Todd Parish, Jordan Shipp and James Patterson.
