Brenda’s Obituary Brenda Johnson, 62,of Moweaqua, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep, June 30, 2019. Brenda was born September 10, 1956, in Moweaqua, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Norma (McQuality) Rader. She raised three sons: Lanny, Leslie and Jason and one daughter, Vanessa. Brenda was a member of First Baptist Church of Moweaqua. She worked for her father at Rader’s Sporting Goods for 17 years and Caterpillar, Inc. for 13 years. Brenda had a passion for the arts. She spent many years tole painting. She found great joy in creating special cards and baking beautifully decorated cookies. Brenda loved being a grandmother most of all. She was known for her strong will and huge heart. She would do anything she could for the people in her life. Surviving are her sons: Lanny Harlin of Hammond, IL and Jason Whitten of New York; daughter, Vanessa (Rick) Deskins of Dale, IN; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers: Richard (Penne) Rader of Arizona, Robert (Shelia) Rader of Lovington, IL and Shawn Watkins of Taylorville, IL; and sisters: JoLynn Baldwin of Mahomet, IL, Rhonda (Kip) Brooks of Decatur, IL and Candace (Darin) Rock of Moweaqua, IL. Preceding her in death are her parents, sister, Linda Allen and son, Leslie Harlin. Per Brenda’s wishes, there will be private services. Read More
