Bobbie Marie Nelson, 91, went home to be with her Lord on June 6, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on June 19, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant, Tx to Nora Bell (Freeman) and Connor Carl Miller, both of whom preceded her in death along with her loving husband Sylvester William Nelson and her siblings: Ruby Aline Nelson, June Carlos Moore, Teddy Jean Miller, Charles Waylon Miller and Carl Junior Miller. Bobbie grew up in the Dallas community and then graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. She loved the Lord and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church until her health prevented her from going. Even then, she read her Bible daily and made sure to spend time with the Lord, thanking Him for her many blessings. Bobbie enjoyed keeping her mind sharp and working on puzzles was a common activity that she could be found doing. Almost as soon as the last pieces were placed, Bobbie was already working on another! She also enjoyed playing cards and other board games, making many treasured memories with family and friends. Bobbie would often cook and bake with the most requested recipes and being her famous biscuits, peanut butter fudge and her banana ice cream. Everyone knew when they visited her, they would leave with a smile and a full stomach. A loving woman with the most generous heart, Bobbie will be deeply missed by everyone that knew her along with her two special dogs that she loved so much, Queeny and Princess. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Reita Faye Gentry and husband, Tommy; sons: Carl William Nelson and wife, Deborah, and Claude James Nelson; grandchildren: Carol Marie Seabolt and husband, Jim, Elizabeth DeeAnn Gentry, Dianna Parnell and husband, Terry, Emily Crawford and husband, Wesley, Amber Rebecca Harvey and husband, Brian, Ashleigh Nelson, Cody Gill Nelson and wife, Katie; nine great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; brother, Alwayne Miller and wife Sylvia; sister, Barbara Bench as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends near and far. Bobbie’s funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating. Her family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am to service time. Interment and committal will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, Tx where she will be laid to rest next to Sylvester.
