Billy Young Bottoms, 85, husband of Dorothy Martin Bottoms, of 165 Bottoms Drive, West Union, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019, at his home. A native of Newry, SC, Mr. Bottoms was the son of the late Frank and Zoah Martin Bottoms. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Seabee for twenty-two years. Mr. Bottoms also worked as a security officer after the military. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bottoms is survived by his sons: Chris Bottoms of West Union, SC and William John Bottoms of Franklin, NC; daughters: Teresa Rizzo of Columbia, SC, Casey Southard of Franklin, NC and Katie Slater of the home; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bottoms was preceded in death by brother: James M. Bottoms. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3:00-4:00 PM, Tuesday, prior to the service, at Davenport Funeral Home.
