Mr. Billy Ray Lyle, 81 of Charlotte, NC, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at home. Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Monday, July 22, 2019 at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 13611 Zoar Road., Charlotte, NC with the Rev. Wayne Hobson officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 15000 York Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service at the Church and there will be a reception following the interment at the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Mr. Lyle was born March 27, 1938 in Ashe County, NC to the late William Ray and Clara Wilson Lyle. He was retired from Celanese Corporation and a U. S. Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Lyle. Survivors are his wife of 60 years Wanda Woods Lyle; daughter Sheri Powell (Rick) of Charlotte, NC; son David Lyle (Michelle) of Fort Mill, SC; sister Linda Wilcox (Blake) of Charlotte, NC; brother Wayne Lyle of Black Mountain, NC; grandchildren Crystal Powell, Jenna Brockelbank, Stacy Starkey, Brandon Lyle, Casey Mullinex, Samantha Lyle; and ten great grandchildren.
