September 3 1927 June 29 2019 (age 91)
Bettylee Patsy Kerley Walkey, 91, passed away on June 29, 2019 in Mesquite, NV. She was born on September 3, 1927 in Boise, ID to Elmer Clyde Kerley and Jennie Zina Christensen and lived for over 50 years in Granada Hills, CA. She has great memories of being part of the elite group of PanAm Airline Stewardesses in the early 1950’s. She was able to travel all over the world, and made friends everywhere she went. Her son has said of Bettylee, “If she talked to you for five minutes, she would be your best friend”. She was a fun lady and made everyone laugh. Nothing made her happier than her three boys, and she supported them in all their endeavors. In her free time, Bettylee raised Yorkshire Terriers, and would compete in Dog Shows. Bettylee was very social and was a member of many groups, such as; the Women’s Club of Granada Hills, Mother of Twins Club, and Women’s Republican group, to name a few. She was a devoted Christian, and visited many churches in her lifetime. She ended every conversation with, “God Bless You!” and you always felt blessed, having met her. Bettylee is survived by her three sons; Patrick Alan (and Joyce) Walkey, Terence Kevin ( and Sherrie) Walkey, and Timothy Calvin (and Charina) Walkey, her 11 grandchildren, and her 29 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; Elmer Clyde Kerley and Jennie Christensen Corbin; brothers Samuel and Douglas Kerley. There will be memorial services on Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Seattle, WA. The family would like to invite you to leave a message or memory in their Guest Book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com.
