Pies, age 96, longtime resident of Nisswa, MN, passed away into the arms of her Lord on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, with family at her side. She was born to Frank and Hazel Kruger on October 6, 1922, in Beach, ND. On June 12, 1940, she married Kenneth Pies. They had two children: son, Kenneth Pies, Jr., and daughter, Darlene Pies Evenson. Both preceded her in death. Bernice worked at the garment factory in Brainerd for many years. Bernice is survived by her sister, Beverly Pettit of Milton, WI; grandchildren: Brenda Lenk of Pillager, MN, Bradley Evenson of Kirkland, IL, David Pies, Melissa Herman and Charlene Malcom, all of Motley, MN; daughter-in-law, Kathy Stetler (Russel) of Nisswa; son-in-law, Ronnie Evenson of Backus, MN; and many nieces and nephews. No services will be held at this time. A family gathering will take place at a later date.
